Descriptions:

OTGS Fall and Spring Baseball: Following the season of Citrus Heights Junior Giants, On The GO Sports continues the great fun by offering one practice per week and one game at the end of each month for three months (September-November). These practices are 90 minutes and will include fielding, throwing, outfield, hitting and running drills as well as strategies and history of the sport. This program is similar to the Junior Giants program, as our main focus is introducing the game to the youth in our area, while reigniting the love for the game for some who have lost it. We look forward to having a good mix of coaches join us (Approved coaches will get 50% off one child in your family!)

There will be no score kept in the games, but we will have other goals that show the player’s progress. The location will be Rusch Park on Sunday afternoons.

OTGS Fall Tag Football: Participants will have one practice per week and one game per month (90 minutes each). Players will practice and compete in a 5 on 5 or 6 on 6 Tag Football League using the typical rules used in the NFL and College where the goal is to score touchdowns. The difference is that there is no tackling and no blockers. Instead of tackling, the goal is to “Tag” the runner with two hands. The defender of the quarterback will use a count or solve equations in order to rush the quarterback, but can blitz once every 4 downs. The quarterback can only run when the defender pursues them. It is the return of the “old school” game a lot of us grew up with. We used to play this game in driveways and city streets. It became the base for which a lot of NFL players used in their early years. This program will be both co-ed and divided into boys and girls divisions with enough interest. We will also be introducing some strategies and history of the game into the instruction. The location will be Rusch Park on either Mon, Tues or Wed (depending on space available at the park) at 5pm. (Approved coaches will get 50% off one child in your family!)

OTGS Spring Intro to Basketball (Game of 21 and Mini Games): Participants will have one practice per week and one game per month (90 minutes each). Players will learn how to play the game of basketball by playing the game of Twenty-One. This game is a game played on the playgrounds by some of the most talented basketball players around the world. Played by up to three players at a time, the game is pretty simple; score exactly 21 points before your opponent(s), but don’t go over or you go back to 13. Two-pointers and three pointers can be used and all others on the court are your opponents. There is no passing in the game of Twenty-One. Our program will utilize several other “mini games” to help the growth of other aspects of basketball. Some examples: “Around The World” (shooting), H.O.R.S.E., “Knockout” (dribbling and shooting), passing and defensive drills. We will also be introducing some strategies and history of the game into the instruction. The location will be Rusch Park inside the gym. Day and time to be determined. (Approved coaches will get 50% off one child in your family!)

We also recruit players for our partnership programs which include:
